AVMergePro Options Explained

This guide explains every option in AVMergePro and when to use each setting.

Output format

MP4

  • Best compatibility across devices and platforms
  • Recommended default

MKV

  • Best for multiple audio tracks or subtitles
  • Less compatible with some devices

WebM

  • Best for modern browsers and web playback
  • Not ideal for older devices

Video codec

Copy

  • Fastest option, no quality loss
  • Keeps original video codec

H.264

  • Most compatible video codec
  • Good balance of quality and size

H.265/HEVC

  • Smaller files than H.264
  • Slower encoding and limited device support

Audio codec

Copy

  • Fastest, no quality loss
  • Keeps original audio codec

AAC

  • Best for MP4
  • Widest support

MP3

  • Legacy compatibility
  • Larger files for the same quality

Opus

  • Best quality per size
  • Best in WebM

Video quality (CRF)

Lower CRF means higher quality and larger files.

  • 18–20: Near‑lossless
  • 21–23: Good balance
  • 24–28: Smaller files, more compression

CRF applies only when re‑encoding video.

Audio offset

  • Positive values delay audio
  • Negative values start audio earlier
  • Useful when voiceover or music is slightly out of sync

-shortest

  • Stops output when the shortest stream ends
  • Useful when audio or subtitles are shorter
  • Disable if you need the full video length

Notifications

  • Desktop notifications when processing completes
  • Helpful for long merges
  • Output: MP4
  • Video: Copy
  • Audio: Copy (or AAC if needed)
  • CRF: 23 if you must re‑encode
